About the Author
Lisbeth Kaiser is a writer and editor whose work has appeared on websites, commercials, billboards, and even toothbrushes. Lisbeth lives in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter and sister and brother-in-law and nephew.Leire Salaberria was born in Andoain (Spain) in 1983. Currently, she lives and works in San Sebastián. She has majored in Fine Arts in Bilbao and studied a postgraduate in Children Illustration in Barcelona. Leire has exhibited her artwork in different countries around the world. Her work has been selected to appear in Bologna Children's Book Fair 2012, IV Ibero-American catalog of illustration 2013, 2014, and the Sharjah International Book Fair 2013, 2014. Since 2011, when she published her first book, she's illustrated several books in Italy, Mexico, and Spain. At the moment, she continues to illustrate children's books, which is her favorite type of work.

I bought this book for my 5 year old daughter. She absolutely loves it!!! This is a wonderful opportunity to teach her about very important people, while still keeping it appropriate to her age/comprehension level. It's akin to teaching American history using the Broadway show, Hamilton, but for children. The story is engaging, and educational. Truly pleased!!!
Great way to introduce strong women leaders to children.
Love book but would love it in board book version.
This was a gift to my granddaughter. Apparently she liked it I haven't heard anything from her other than that she received it.
My three year old and I love this book. The illustrations are beautiful and the text addresses racism, domestic violence, and activism in a way that's appropriate for a young child.
Maya is this child's hero first of all..and the way that this is written is great for young girls.
A good, hearty book with a good hearty message.
